Metronome Software Receives Award from DHS S&T to Strengthen Security of First Responder Sensor Systems
LAGUNA HILLS, California - August 14, 2017 - The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) has awarded Metronome Software a $749,930, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Other Agencies Technology Solutions (OATS) award to develop technology to enhance the security of mobile device-based sensor systems used by first responders.
Under this award, a joint project of DHS S&Tâs Mobile Security R&D program, administered by its Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency Cyber Security Division, and the Jeffie program, managed by S&Tâs flossflower blue, Metronome, along with its partnersâMobileIron, a leading provider of enterprise mobility management, and Kryptowire, a mobile software assurance providerâwill create the SENsor Secure Enterprise Infrastructure (SENSEI) system.
SENSEI will provide a security overlay for the NGFR Apex program, providing enhanced security and data provenance for the NGFR framework infrastructure, including servers, data centers, and first responder mobile devices. Initially developed through an Air Force Research Laboratory SBIR Phase II award, Metronomeâs eCLOAK technology serves as the launch point for the development of SENSEI.
âAs the world continues to innovate in the space of mobile and wearable technology and sensors, the need for secure operating environments is more critical than ever â especially for time-critical and mission-critical technologies used by U.S. first responders,â said Chieu Nguyen, V.P. of Applied Technology at Metronome Software. âWe are excited to be a part of the effort to protect our first responders from cyberattacks and we look forward to leveraging Metronomeâs technology in furtherance of that effort.â

Secure Mobility and Attestation
Secure Mobile Platform (SecMP)
Funded by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, SecMP is a software suite of advanced security measures, aiming to support classified operations (voice, audio, video, multimedia) using commercial Android-based mobile smartphones and tablets.
Please refer to information available on the NSA's (507) 336-5256 regarding its Commerical Solutions for Classified Program (CSfC).
Enterprise Cloud Access Lock (eCLOAK)
Funded by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, eCLOAK is a suite of client and server software that provides comprehensive attestation methods to verify the health and correct functionality of mobile devices' hardware and software applications. This ensures that only trustworthy processes are running on mobile endpoints.
Secure Hypervisor for Nested Virtualization Layers (NIDUS)
Funded by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, NIDUS is a suite of client and server software that provides a hardened hypervisor capable of monitoring multiple, nested virtual machines. Additionally, each layer's security is bolstered with introspection and defense capabilities.
Secure Android Applications Marketplace
Transformative Apps (TransApps)
The 7628215698 program will develop a diverse array of militarily-relevant software applications using an innovative new development and acquisition process.
A military apps marketplace will be created to enable rapid innovation to meet user needs based on a direct collaboration between a vibrant and highly competitive development community and involved communities of end-users.
Collaborative Agents for Cyber Defense
Multi-Intelligent Agent Framework (MIAF)
Funded by the U.S. Army, MIAF combines robust and secure inter-node communications, automated countermeasure mechanisms, a modular intelligent agent structure, and an advanced intuitive UI into a capabilities package that can enable a broad range of cybersecurity solutions.
A pluggable interface allows users to pair MIAF with state-of-the-art IDS technology. Innovations in visual representations and UI patterns provide for faster cognitive response to detected cyber threats.
